“I like the spirit of this great London which I feel around me. Who but a coward would pass his whole life in hamlets; and for ever abandon his faculties to the eating rust of obscurity?”
-Charlotte Brontë
WHERE DO WE MEET UP?
You will meet your guide at a designed meeting point at 11AM and after introductions, a short briefing of the day and any questions you may have, you crack on!
HOW MANY BOOKSHOPS WILL WE VISIT?
Usually two but sometimes more. Depends on how much time you’d like to spend in each location.
How many people can attend?
These tours have a maximum of 4 attendees to ensure for a more intimate experience.
What SHOULD I expect?
Begin the day with a meet-and- greet over tea or coffee and a pastry before you begin your day. Your itinerary will be tailored to a neighborhood and will include two bookshops, a tea shop and stationary store. You will also learn history of the area throughout your day.
Can children be included on the tour?
Absolutely, but they will need to book a place and be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the day.
DO I NEED A TRAVEL CARd?
We recommend you either have contactless/mobile pay set up on your phone or a day pass to use the London Underground or bus. Buses do not accept cash.
Is lunch included?
No. Participants can bring their own lunch or purchase it during the lunch break. If you’d like to book an Afternoon Tea experience, this is an additional $75 per person and add 2 hours to the tour. Otherwise we are happy to recommend places to book.
Planning your day
Come rain or shine, your route can be adapted if inclement weather strikes, but having a small bag for an umbrella or scarf can be handy. The day can involve a lot of walking, sure to wear comfortable shoes and a general level of health and fitness is recommended.
