Uncover the magic of a luxurious and private Lochside retreat near Ben Nevis. An enchanting tree-lined avenue leads to a beautiful homestay nestled in private woodlands on an estate of over three thousand acres. Here you will be invited to retreat into rest. This time isn’t about filling your days with activity and constantly traveling, rather this time is a balance of connecting, resting and exploring. Some days we will travel throughout the highlands, other days we will stay put. Sleep in. Just be. When night time comes, we will gather by the fire and enjoy a family style dinner by candlelight.
This is a women’s only trip and is designed around time for you to rest, to be inspired, to allow yourself time to reimagine your life or simply connect with others. Ultimately, this is meant for you to find a soft place to land. DAY ONE Meet Kyle at the Glasgow rail station. Depart and make your way to Stirling Castle. Scotland's most historically significant fortresses, sitting high on volcanic rock and offering wonderful views of the surrounding landscape. Take a guided tour and learn of key historical figures including William Wallace, Robert the Bruce, and Mary Queen of Scots. En route to Glencoe, in the heart of the Highlands, lies the Glen Etive road which affords twelve miles of magnificent Scottish scenery. Arrive at the farmhouse and get settled into your Dinner together in the evening.

DAY TWO LOCHES AND GLENS OF THE HIGHLANDS Depart your hotel for Three Sisters, the heart of Glencoe. From vast moorlands and incredible mountains, to clear lochs and stunning valleys, there is so much to admire on this glorious drive. This is known to be one of Scotland’s most beautiful drives. Travel deeper into rugged evocative Highlands. No description can recreate the impact of seeing Glencoe for the first time. Spend the morning taking in these scenes, listening to the stories of this evocative place. On the way to lunch, you will stop at the Glencoe Visitor Center for a visit. Continue to Oban for lunch and time to explore. In the afternoon, view Kilchurn Castle on the way back to the farmhouse.

DAY THREE Enjoy the day spent at the farmhouse. Sleep in, go for a walk through the expansive property grounds, wander along the loch or stay back and enjoy the cozy farmhouse. There will be an opportunity go to Ft William for lunch if you like. Dinner at the farmhouse.

DAY FOUR Depart mid morning, we will depart for Eilean Donan Castle, strategically located castle on its own little island, overlooking the Isle of Skye, at the point where three great sea-lochs meet, and surrounded by the majestic. The island's original castle was built in the thirteenth century; it became a stronghold of the Clan Mackenzie and their allies, the Clan MacRae. Along the way to Eileen Donan, we will stop at a bakery for a break. Depending on the timing, we may venture further onto the Isle of Skye. Dependent on weather and timing. Once we circle back towards our farmhouse, we will make a stop at St Dubhthac’s Church, a medieval church damaged by Hanoverian gun fire in 1719 possibly because it was used as a hospital for the Jacobite wounded after the Battle of Glenshiel. This stunning setting overlooks Loch Dutch and Clachan Duich burial ground. Return to the farmhouse for dinner.

DAY FIVE Travel on the north side of Ben Nevis along the Cairngorms National Park. Stop along the way for lunch. If time permits, stop at a bluebell wood and/or a private woodland garden to experience a stunning displace of hundreds of rhododendrons in bloom. This is a special experience if we hit the bloom season on time. Continue your journey through the ancient kingdom of Fife to Culross. White-harled houses with red-tiled roofs line the steep cobbled streets that run from the market cross to the hilltop abbey. It’s little wonder that Culross is acknowledged as one of the most picturesque villages in Scotland. Continue to Edinburgh. Check into your hotel. Enjoy the evening wander up to Calton Hill, a prominent hill with neoclassical monuments and sweeping views of the city skyline for a classic sunset over Edinburgh. Dinner on your own. Option to join a nighttime walking tour to discover haunted/underground Edinburgh.

DAY SIX Begin the day with a guided walking tour to orient yourself to this stunning Georgian city. By mid morning, you’ll have the remains of the day to completely spend on your own. Wind your way through the city’s Gothic streets of Old Town, and explore the Royal Mile — with its quaint shops, narrow lanes, and hidden courtyards. Explore Edinburgh Castle, the oldest fortified palace in Europe. lunch is in the Grassmarket - once a former 15th-century livestock market it is now a vibrant street with a food scene. Take in the iconic view of the castle from Vennel Viewpoint. If you’re intrigued by ancient cemeteries, Greyfriars Kirkyard a 15th-century graveyard is one to visit. It is said that JK Rowlings was inspired by this place when created her characters for Harry Potter. Armchair Books isn’t too far from here. Spend the rest of the afternoon visiting the Scottish National Gallery or shopping in New Town. Come back together in the evening for a very special farewell dinner together.
